Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP added innovation to the refined character of their Philadelphia office. To achieve the effect, 189 1PXL Board Dynamic White were installed in two areas of the office lobby, creating a dynamic white “skylight” effect. Selected for its versatility through adjustable correlated color temperature (CCT), the 1PXL Board was covered with Newmat diffusion fabric and installed in the ceiling of the firm’s two lobbies. A Butler XT and Glass Touch T12 provide reliable control of the installation’ s two universes, enabling precise CCT tuning and a pre-programmed lighting scenario. Butler XT’ s internal astronomical clock allows the installation to power on and off automatically, at specific times each day. The two ceilings were assigned separate universes within the Butler XT and are controlled independently, cycling imperceptibly from a cool white in the morning, to a bright neutral midday white, and ending with a warm white in the evening. This standard show can be easily overridden to switch to alternate settings, via the Glass Touch T12. Traxon worked closely with lighting designer and architect, Francis Cauffman, to ensure correct standoff distance between the diffusion and the fixtures, creating a homogenous surface without any visible pixilation. The result is a smooth Dynamic White ceiling, which provides the lobby with general illumination and sophistication.
