The AOK Pediatric Clinic in Berlin, Germany, combines functionality, advanced design, education and entertainment, in this creative healthcare environment geared toward children. lichtraeume’s lighting concept inspires the creativity and imagination of the clinic’s young patients, while putting them at ease in its nurturing environment. The entire clinic space was transformed into a space conducive to color theories and positive spatial perception, with a dynamic lighting and control solution from Traxon & e:cue. The concept not only illuminates the facility, it also creates a wide range of ambiences, allowing its young patients to feel as if they are creating their own identity by initiating an atmosphere of their choosing. The goal of the installation is to relax the young patients and reduce their anxiety by supporting an open-minded and trustful collaboration between the children and the medical staff. In order to achieve this result, Traxon’s ultra-flexible Dot XL-6 was installed. The chromatic design is controlled by an e:cue Butler XT, which orchestrates smooth color mixing and cycling, with consideration of the psychological and physiological effects of colored light on children. Clinic staff can easily change lighting scenarios via the Glass Touch T12 user terminal.
